These ecological gardens were created by famous author, designer of gardens and plants of the woman, Beth Chatto OBE. Beth was awarded with this honor in 2002. The gardens were built in the place of their husbands abandoned fruit farm in the 1960, which limits the family home.
The whole area considered unsuitable for agriculture and left to grow wild in a vacant lot covered with willows and brambles cover. Today the gardens cover about five hectares of land separated in a variety of different sites, including planting in dry, sun-baked gravel, water and marginal planting, woodland, clay dark, heavy and alpine areas. Beth Chatto OBE continues to work in the gardens and writes for national and international press.
Exhibition Gardens Beth Chatto can be seen in the Tendring Hundred Show in Essex. The gardens have won many gold medals for exhibits at the Chelsea Flower Show. All this experience helps the Beth A Garden Chatto Gardens Essex Open more spectacular to visit.
