With a little paint, a brush, sponge and a little patience, you can turn your cheap plastic containers garden in pots of furniture that seem to expensive designer versions. In fact, these pots are so good that your guests will notice the difference.
"As the Lead Finish
1. Take a plastic cup square and clean well with soap and water. Let dry and polish.
2. Sprinkle the outside with a spray base of white plastic melting. Let dry before continuing.
3. Use an acrylic paint outdoors in a wrought iron curtain to paint the sides and the inner edge of the pot. DAB or stippling the paint with a round brush to avoid brush strokes. Once dry, apply a second coat.
4. In another bowl with lid, mix a glaze with air paintings free: 2 teaspoons of blue, 4 teaspoons of brown sand, 1 / 2 teaspoon gray concrete, and 1-2 drops of black. Thin with water 6 teaspoons, cover and shake to mix. Do not worry about being accurate with these amounts.
5. Apply the varnish with a sponge wrung (still slightly damp). Much of a sea sponge works well as dab the glaze to cover one side of the pot.
6. When the first face is covered, take a dry cloth and wipe evenly throughout the pot. There should be a scratched metal look to it. Repeat for the rest of the sides and inner lip. Be careful blend edges so that no definite lines. Give the pot a second layer if you feel you need.
7. Spray two or three layers of transparent protective Spry waterproof metal finishing again.
"As the copper" Verdigris Finish
1. Start with a terracotta pot, preferably with any proposed design or cracks. Wipe down to remove excess dirt, and let dry overnight when cleaned with water.
2. Paint the entire pot - Inside and out - with a green fern color of acrylic paint outdoors. Let dry and add a second coat to completely cover and get into small nooks and crannies.
3. Mix the glaze in a container with a tight fitting lid. Should include: 3 teaspoons Decoart blue paint patio in the Bahamas and 3 teaspoons of water. Cover and shake until blended. Pour into a larger bowl or plate that can sponge.
4. Using a slightly damp sponge or a brush, apply glaze to a size of the pot.
5. Wipe excess glaze dabbing and rubbing with a soft cloth. Repeat on all sides.
6. Get a small amount of bright copper-colored paint and apply sparingly around the edges or along the raised designs and curves. Wipe clean.
7. Sprinkle with some transparent protective layer of finish.
"Just Like Limestone Finish
1. This is a technique that works very well with a pineapple concrete or other similar outdoor decor. Use a stiff bristle brush and thoroughly clean the item to be hedged. If you wash it with water, let to dry overnight.
2. Get a paper plate and without mixing, pouring small portions of the following to the paintings of door: light yellow sand brown, gray concrete, and black.
3. Using a large round brush or makeup brush cleaner, paint stick, taking care to be in the cracks and cracks. Choose different colors on the fly, similar to the shaded area of the limestone.
4. Dampen and wring out a sea sponge and blend the colors drying slightly. Continue to layer the paint so you get more variation, and always mixing and drying to get a good look. Finally choose some accents and add the final layer.
5. Once dried, sprayed with several coats of clear protective finish.
